WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Ramadan Jennings (Jackson, Ohio/Life Skills) notched his first career double-double to lead six members of the 11th-ranked Lycoming College men’s basketball team in double figures but Lycoming fell to a hot-shooting Arcadia University squad, 101-91, on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, at Lamade Gym in MAC Commonwealth action.

After scoring a career-high 25 against Alvernia on Wednesday, Jennings recorded his first double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. He hit 5-of-8 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Jennings was one of three Warriors (19-3 overall, 10-3 MAC Commonwealth) with 15 points, as seniors Chris Wallace (Randallstown, Md./Calvert Hall) and Alex Newbold (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) also contributed that many. Wallace added three rebounds and three steals and Newbold had eight rebounds and six assists.

Arcadia (12-9 overall, 7-5 MAC Commonwealth) hit 17-of-32 3-pointers in the win, including nine in the first half and eight in the second. Overall, it hit more than 55 percent (32-of-58) of its shots.

In a back and forth first half, with the game tied at 23, the Warriors went on a 7-0 run with a 3-pointer from freshman Darius Dangerfield (Abingdon, Md./Hartford Tech) and four straight made free throws. Lycoming held the biggest lead of the first half at eight with 4:47 remaining with Jennings scoring four straight in the run to make it 44-36. Arcadia countered with an 8-0 run in the next minute to tie the game. The Knights were then able to take a two-point lead into the break.

A close game continued late into the second half, as the biggest lead either team had in the first 15 minutes of the half was a five-point Arcadia lead. Lycoming took its first lead of the second half seven minutes in on a 3-pointer from junior T.J. Duckett (Severna Park, Md./Calvert Hall). An Arcadia 3-pointer a possession later allowed it to retake the lead, but a two-handed slam from Jennings gave the Warriors the lead right back at 69-68. That lead grew to three on two free throws from junior Calvin Chandler (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) moments later. That was the biggest lead Lycoming had in the second half. In the final eight minutes, Arcadia hit 6-of-8 3-pointers and went on a 22-6 in a five-minute span late to take its biggest lead of the game at 13.

Dangerfield scored 13 points and Duckett and sophomore Ronald Jefferson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King) each notched 10 points. Jefferson had five rebounds and two assists and Duckett added three boards.

The Warriors scored 21 points off 13 Arcadia turnovers and held a 37-20 advantage in bench points. Lycoming also hit 37-of-46 (80 percent) free throws.

Josh Scott led Arcadia with 26 points, as he hit 7-of-12 shots and 5-of-9 3-pointers. Da’Kquan Davis added 20 points and four assists.

The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10, when they head to Stevenson University for a MAC Commonwealth game. The women tip at 1 p.m. while the men start at 3 p.m.
