Huskies Montana Named PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Bloomsburg University sophomore forward Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Co-Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Monday, Feb. 5). To view the league's full release, click here.

The honor was the first of Montana's career. Back-to-back double-doubles, the second and third of her career respectively, helped the Huskies jet right back into the PSAC tournament picture.

Montana posted a 16-point, 13-rebound day against Kutztown back on Jan. 31 in the Huskies 68-60 win. Her 13 rebounds tied the career-high that she set back on Nov. 21 against Holy Family. She pulled down nine defensive rebounds and four offensive rebounds. She shot 60.0 percent (6-10) from the floor in the contest, and also 66.7 percent (4-6) from the free throw line.

In the Feb. 3 game against Lock Haven, Montana scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. In that game, she shot 50.0 percent (5-10) from the floor and 75.0 percent (3-4) from the foul line. She grabbed six defensive rebounds and five offensive boards in the game.

She also recorded one assist against Kutztown, along with one assist and one steal against Lock Haven.

The Berwick, Pa. native is the daughter of Gray and Beth Montana, and is an exercise science major.
