LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Senior forward Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School) of the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It marks the first time in Rose's collegiate career that he has garnered a weekly honor from the conference.

Rose posted back-to-back double-doubles last week to lift the Huskies to a 2-0 record, and, with the two victories, Bloomsburg clinched a spot in the PSAC tournament for the third straight season and sixth time in the last seven years.

In last Wednesday's 75-58 win at Cheyney, Rose led the Huskies with 19 points, going 8-of-12 from the field, while pulling down 11 rebounds. He added two assists and two blocked shots in the victory. Then, on Saturday, Rose posted 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds to lift the Huskies to an 89-78 home win over Millersville on Senior Day. He added two more assists and two more blocked shots in the victory. For the week, Rose averaged 19.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 16-of-23 (69.6%) from the field. Rose now has four double-doubles this season and six for his career.

Rose has recorded 58 blocks this season - the most by a BU player since the 2009-10 campaign - and needs three blocked shots to tie Lee Gump (1992-96) for second on the school's all-time list for career blocks. Rose has totaled 127 blocked shots in his three seasons with the Huskies. The senior is also averaging career-highs in points (13.1 ppg) and rebounds (6.1 rpg). In his first two years combined, Rose averaged 5.6 points and 3.5 rebounds.

Bloomsburg, winners of three straight and four of its last five, will entertain East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday, February 14, in the final home game of the regular season. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. from the Nelson Field House. The Huskies will be looking to avenge a 98-62 loss to the Warriors back on January 13 in East Stroudsburg.
