Lycoming College men's basketball looks to keep first-place lead

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Looking to keep a one-game lead on first-place in the MAC Commonwealth, the 16th-ranked Lycoming College men’s basketball team heads to Stevenson University on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at Owing Mills Gymnasium.

Six Warriors (19-3 overall, 10-3 MAC Commonwealth) scored in double figures in their last game, a 101-91 setback to Arcadia. Freshman Ramadan Jennings notched his first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and seniors Alex Newbold and Chris Wallace also added 15 points each.

Stevenson (10-13 overall, 2-12 MAC Commonwealth) lost its ninth straight game to Hood, 76-56, on Wednesday. The Mustangs are led by Danzel Wright, who had 12 points and three rebounds. He’s second in the conference in scoring (20.9) and 3-point field goal percentage (.420).

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are a program-high second in the initial NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region rankings.

• With a win against Stevenson, Lycoming will record back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in program history.

• With 1,172 career points, senior Chris Wallace needs 13 more to pass Eric Anthony (2007-10) for 20th in program history.

• With 1,036 career points, senior Alex Newbold needs 25 more to pass Ihsaan Davis (2009-13) for 30th in program history.

• With six more assists, Newbold will become just the second player in program history and the first since Jonathan Pribble (2002-06) to post 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists in a career.

• The Warriors’ 242 steals this season are the 10th most in a single season in program history.

• The Warriors have been ranked in the poll for 19 straight weeks.
