Junior Michael Tenant is the MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With a 12-save performance to lead a dominating defensive effort by the Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team, junior Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) has earned his fourth career MAC Defensive Player of the Week accolade, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Feb. 26.

Tenant and the Warriors shut down Gwynedd Mercy in an 8-1 win on Saturday, Feb. 24, holding the Griffins scoreless for the final 54 minutes of the game while the Warriors scored seven unanswered goals and allowed nothing while the Griffins had nine minutes of man-up time. In all, the junior keeper stopped 12 shots, including seven in the second half to preserve the lead while seeing 29 Griffin shots.

The Calvert Hall grad leads the MAC with a 5.00 goals-against average and he is second with a .643 save percentage at this early point in the season.

Tenant is the second Warrior to earn the conference’s defensive player of the week award this year, joining sophomore defender Sam Pollock (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York), who earned the award on Feb. 19. Tenant earned the award twice as a sophomore (Feb. 27, March 13, 2017) and once as a freshman (Feb. 29, 2016).

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Feb. 28, when they head to 17th-ranked Ithaca for a 4 p.m. game.
