WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - For the fifth straight year, the Lycoming College women's cross country team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the association announced on Friday, Feb. 9.

To be considered an All-Academic Team, programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.

There were 221 women's All-Academic Teams at the Division III level, including eight other schools from the MAC - Alvernia, Arcadia, King’s, Lebanon Valley, Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson and Widener.

Lycoming's women's program, under first-year head coach Kip Hoffman, had eight runners earn MAC Academic Honor Roll selections in 2017, and the team was just as good on the cross country course, as the team finished 38th in a field of 60 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional. The team finished 12th at the MAC Championships and was led during the season by senior Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale), who posted the third-fastest time in program history with a mark of 24:23 at the regional.
