Men's Basketball - Keuka Edges Wildcats in OT

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Keuka College scored five unanswered points in the final 1:52 of overtime en route to a 77-73 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Wednesday in Bardo Gymnasium. The Wolves improved to 9-6 NEAC, 11-11 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 2-13, 3-21.

Robert Young Jr. netted a game-high 20 points for Penn College on 8 of 16 shooting. Spencer Bartron connected on six treys and finished with 18 points, and Ryan Lockman netted 13.

James Barnes led Keuka with 15 points, Greg Tyler and Dylan Doupe netted 14, Trevor Powell scored 13, and Cliff Stevens added 12.

Keuka opened up overtime with a trey to take a 69-66 lead, before a jumper from Young and a trey by Bartron put PCT ahead 71-69 with 3:30 left in the game. Penn College maintained a two-point, 73-71, lead after a pair of Matthew Salvent free throws with 2:18 left in the game which led to both teams trading baskets  to make it 75-73 with 33 ticks left and PCT possession. Following a Penn College turnover, Keuka iced the game with two free throws with 12 seconds left.

Keuka led by nine, 32-23, with 4:38 left in the opening half, which led to an 11-4 scoring run to by the Wildcats to close the half trailing 36-34.

The Wolves built an eight-point, 55-47, lead with 10:58 left in the game, which led an 11-3 spurt by Penn College and gave the Wildcats a 58-57 lead following Bartron's three with 6:11 on the clock.  Barton led the run with six points. PCT went ahead 66-62 after Lockman's layup with 1:28 left game but Keuka netted four straight to even the game at 66-66.

Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting SUNY Poly.
