Men's Indoor Track And Field Gets Eight PSAC Qualifiers At Bucknell Tune-Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track and field team collected eight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers on Friday night while competing at the Bucknell University Tune-Up.

Matthew Hart (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was a double-qualifier on Friday as he posted conference marks in both the weight throw and the shot put. Hart finished fifth overall in the weight throw with a mark of 15.53 meters and then finished eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.52 meters.

On the track, six different competitors posted times that qualifies them for the conference meet coming up later this month.

All three Bloomsburg runners that participated in the 3000-meter run got under the PSAC standard on Friday night. Daniel Neiswender (Lebanon, Pa/Cedar Crest) led the trio with a time of 8:57.01 to finish 10th overall. His time was his best of the season and is the sixth-best mark in the conference this year. Danny Dugan (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) placed 13th overall with a time of 9:02.69 while Zach Bitner (Mount Holly Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), who also ran his best time of the season in the event, finished 14th in 9:03.78.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Dave Lauscar (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) qualified for the conference meet with a time of 8.85 seconds to finish eighth overall. James Wilson (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) got under the conference standard in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line in 1:59.63 to place fifth overall. Bloomsburg's final qualifier of the night was Austin Kline (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) who posted a time of 22.98 in the 200-meter dash to finish fourth overall. It was his best mark of the year in the event.

Kline and Wilson would later team up with Hunter Jarratt (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) and Tom Moser (Natalie, Pa./Mt. Carmel)to earn a victory in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:32.45. The Huskies' foursome of Kevin Calabrese (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills)Marcus Gray (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt)Chris McCormick (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill), and Lakota Wadena(Macungie, Pa./Bloomsburg) took fourth in the event with a time of 3:46.02.

Jarratt and Moser had top-ten finishes in the 800-meter run. After Wilson placed fifth, Jarratt came across the line in seventh with a time of 2:00.61 while Moser finished ninth in 2:03.60. Lauscar, meanwhile, also had a top-ten result in the long jump as he placed seventh overall with a mark of 6.16 meters.

Bloomsburg will head to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Susquehanna Open on Saturday, February 17. It will be the final indoor event prior to the conference championships, hosted by Edinboro University, which takes place on February 24 and February 25.
