Obituary - Antoinette L. DeSanto, 80, of Williamsport, passed away February 6, 2018

Antoinette L. DeSanto, 80, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at The Williamsport Home with family at her side.

She was born in Williamsport on March 13, 1937, a daughter of William and Madaline Vallacci Maggi.

Antoinette was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church now St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School, was a homemaker and had worked part-time at the Fifth Ave. Laundry. She took great pleasure in cooking for family and friends.

Her husband of 60 years, Ronald R. DeSanto, died Jan. 24, 2016. Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly D. (Gerald) McGee, of South Williamsport; son, Ronald A. (Melanie) DeSanto, of Trout Run; grandchildren, Anthony (Kristina), Andrew (Megan), Matthew DeSanto, Nicholas and Christopher McGee; a great-grandson, Andrew DeSanto Jr.; and sisters, Jennie Samar, of South Williamsport and Theressa Fredo, of Williamsport.

In addition to her parents and husband, two sisters, Mary Louise Kiodo and Louise Bellott and a brother, Anthony Maggi all preceded her in death.

The family will receive family and friends at the church portico on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, from 9 to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for both Ronald and Antoinette 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, followed by burial at Wildwood Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Prostat Homecare for the care of our mother while she was at home and Dr. Ciccarelli and the staff at The Williamsport Home for the care and compassion shown for our mother and the entire family, we would also like a special thank you to Father Brian Van Fossen and Father Michael McCormick for their many visits and prayers.
