Terry Nelson Myers, 71, of Jersey Mills, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Born July 4, 1946 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Nelson K. Myers and Anna Dolina Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Abigail A. Myers on May 22, 2001; and a brother in law, Eddie Kramer.

Terry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorian E. Hollick Myers, they were united in marriage on June 6, 1975 in Gettysburg at the United Methodist Church. Also surviving are his son, Shane (Sharon) Green, of Jersey Shore; a sister, Donna Kramer, of Toledo, OH; a brother, Daniel “Boone” (Melinda) Myers, of Jersey Shore; and a son in law, Kyle Kelly of Cogan Station. 

Terry honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972. He was always proud to have stood honor guard for President Lyndon Johnson. He was a 1966 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and was a graduate of Williamsport Community College with a degree in welding.

Throughout his life he worked for Paul and Carol Asper at Penn Artic, was a welder for Spencer Heater, and worked at Jersey Shore Steel. For the past 42 years he was the owner of Terry’s Coal and Wood Stoves in Jersey Shore. 

Terry was born and raised and lived his entire life in Jersey Mills. He was a native of Pine Creek and a true mountain man! Two of his passions in life were his stove shop and hunting. He was an avid hunter and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. Terry loved nothing more than to feed the deer and hunting trophy white tails. He also enjoyed cooking, especially wild game. Another lifelong passion was his love for his many German Shepherds. His faithful companion, Sophie, was by his side when he passed away. 

A funeral service honoring the life of Terry will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 North Main St., Jersey Shore. Family and Friends may call Friday evening, February 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Welker Funeral Home. Pastor Rebecca Cuddeback will officiate. 

Burial will be held in the Blue Stone Cemetery in Jersey Mills with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
