Warriors Women's Basketball opens MAC Commonwealth Championship at Albright

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After posting the second-most wins in program history and tying the high mark for conference wins in a season, the Lycoming College women's basketball team enters the MAC Commonwealth Championship as the No. 3 seed, opening the tournament by heading to No. 2 Albright on Wednesday night, Feb. 21.

The Warriors (17-7 overall, 11-5 MAC Commonwealth) fell to Albright (19-6 overall, 14-2 MAC Commonwealth) twice in the regular season, including a narrow five-point loss in Saturday's finale. Lycoming features the league's top scorer in senior Shelby Mueller, who posted 23 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's game, to up her average to 15.3 points per game. Albright has the next two top scorers in the league in seniors Nina Mazzarelli (14.6) and Alysha Lofton (14.0).

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors have reached the MAC Commonwealth Championship semifinals in back-to-back years for the first time in program history.

• Lycoming has advanced to a conference title game once, playing for the 1988 MAC Northern Division Championship.

• The senior class of Erin BriggsHailey FrickeShelby Mueller and Haley Sipple's 61 career wins is fourth in program history and the most since the 1997-98 group won a school-record 65.

• The Warriors lead the MAC Commonwealth with a .339 defensive field goal percentage, .346 3-point field goal percentage, 5.8 3-pointers made and 5.4 blocked shots per game.

• Senior Shelby Mueller needs nine more rebounds to become the fifth player in school history to grab 250 in a season.

• Sophomore Morgan Mader needs to hit two more 3-pointers to become the fourth player in school history to hit 50 in a season.
