Wilkes Women’s Lacrosse Eighth in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Wilkes University women’s lacrosse team has been selected to finish eighth in the annual Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Preseason Poll released by the conference office this morning.

Three-time defending conference champion FDU-Florham garnered all seven first-place votes and 49 points to enter the season as the coaches’ preseason favorite to win the MAC Freedom in 2018. Misericordia University was voted second with 42 points. Also picked in a preseason playoff spot were King’s College with 35 points in third and Manhattanville College with 34 points in fourth. Eastern University and Delaware Valley University came in at fifth and sixth with 22 and 21 points respectively. Rounding out the preseason survey was DeSales University in seventh with 14 points and Wilkes in eighth with seven points.

The Lady Colonels open the season on Thursday, March 1 when they welcome Immaculata University to Schmidt Stadium at 4:00 p.m. The first of seven MAC Freedom games is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at home against FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
