Wrestling - Mooney Finishes Fourth at NCAA Regional

FERRUM, Va. – Jared Mooney became the first Penn College wrestler to stand on a podium at an NCAA postseason tournament, following his fourth place finish at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regional Saturday. Mooney was win shy of advancing to the Division III Championships.

Christian Fox and Dylan Otis both placed in the top eight for the Wildcats.

Mooney reached the consolation final at 197 after decking McDaniel's Carlos Ortega in the semifinals. He fell to York's Hasan Alic by a first period pin.

Otis bowed to eventual third-place finisher, South Virginia's Nico Ramirez, 7-4 at heavyweight.

Fox lost in the consolation semifinals with a 16-1 setback to Brandon Woody.
