LLBWS - Canada Defeats Mexico To Avoid Elimination

Mexico fought back after falling down by five runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-4 defeat to Canada on Monday. Mexico scored three runs on a home run in the third inning.

Mexico fell behind early in the loss. Canada scored on a single by Nate Colina and a single by Dio Gama in the first inning.


LLBWS TOURNAMENT

Canada got things moving in the first inning. Canada scored one run when Nate singled.

Mexico put up three runs in the third inning. Mexico scored its runs on a home run by Fernando Lopez.

Canada scored three runs in the second inning. Canada scored its runs on a triple by Kai Sheck.

Ian Huang pitched Canada to victory. He allowed five hits and four runs over four and a third innings, striking out five. Cole Balkovec and Nate entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Nate recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Canada.

Angel Martinez took the loss for Mexico. He went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Mexico hit one home run on the day. Fernando went deep in the third inning.

Gael Ponce, Alberto Gomez, Fernando, Carlos Garza, and Axel Morales all had one hit to lead Mexico. Mexico was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Emilio Cano made the most plays with 12.

Canada collected ten hits on the day. Andre Juco, Jordan Jaramillo, and Dio each managed multiple hits for Canada.
