Lycoming Men's Soccer: Solecki named MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With a pair of shutouts against the top two teams in the PAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Lycoming College senior goalkeeper Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) has earned his third career MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Sept. 3.


The Hainesport, N.J., native posted four saves in a 110-minute 0-0 tie against Presidents’ Athletic Conference preseason favorite Grove City on Friday and added three saves in 2-0 win over Geneva, who posted a 14-4-2 record in 2017, on Saturday. Starting his second year as the team's starter, Solecki has posted 13 shutouts in his career, which is tied for fifth in program history.

Solecki also earned the award on Sept. 11 and Oct. 9, 2017, picking up United Soccer Coaches’ National Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10, 2017 after shutouts of regionally-ranked Lebanon Valley and Arcadia.

The Warriors (1-0-1 overall) get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m., when they head to Susquehanna University for the Battle of the Boot.
