WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a 25-point win to open the MAC Commonwealth season, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will hit the road for Stevenson University on Saturday, Nov. 29, in a contest between two of the top three teams in the MAC Commonwealth's preseason poll.
The Warriors (4-2 overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) opened conference play with a 74-49 win over Albright, as four players finished in double figures. Junior Kayla Kline led the team with 19 points and junior Akilah McFadden added 17.
The Mustangs (2-4 overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) fell to Lebanon Valley, 66-60, in their first conference game. Senior Jonyae Curry led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds and sophomore Olivia Coleman added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors can open MAC Commonwealth play 2-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season with a win.
• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth in field goal percentage defense (.352), assist-turnover ratio (1.36), scoring margin (16.7), scoring offense (72.7) and turnovers (12.3).
• With the last of her 19 points against Albright, junior Kayla Kline became the 45th player in school history to post 500 in a career.
• Senior Becca Painter is three points away from reaching 300 in her career.
• Sophomore Erica Lutz needs 19 more points to reach 200 in her career.
• With 131 career steals, junior Akilah McFadden is two thefts shy of reaching the top 15 in program history.
• The win over Albright was the 50th in the careers of seniors Painter, Jenn Grove and Shelby Schoonover. Lycoming is 50-33 (.602) during their careers.
