Men's Indoor Track And Field Gets Six PSAC Qualifiers Friday Night At Houghton

HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track and field team got six Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers on Friday night at the Houghton December Classic at the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse. It marked the final meet during the 2018 portion of the regular season.


Five of the six conference qualifiers occurred on the track as sophomore Matt Loeh (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) was the only athlete to qualify in the field events as he posted a mark of 14.42 meters in the weight throw to finish third overall on Friday night. The distance is the fourth-longest in the conference this season.

On the track, freshman Tyler Bailey (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.01 which is the second-best mark in the PSAC early in the campaign. Senior Ben Williams (Stewartsville, N.J./Philliipsburg) added a second-place result in the 400-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 51.96 - the sixth-best time in the conference. Redshirt junior Marcus Gray (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.17. His time of 7.14 during prelims was the second-best mark which earned him a spot in the finals. That time is 11th in the conference this season.

Senior Tom Moser (Natalie, Pa./Mt. Carmel) qualified for the conference championships in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:07.88 on Friday. The time was fourth overall and is the fourth-fastest time in the conference. In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Hank Anderson (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) posted a time of 8.54 during prelims to qualify for the finals where he finished sixth with a time of 9.31. His preliminary time is the sixth-best mark in the conference.

Finally, the Huskies' 4x400-meter relay team of Williams, Anderson, Bailey, and freshman Anthony Moser (Natalie, Pa./Mt. Carmel) combined for a time of 3:37.43 to finish second overall.

Bloomsburg will be off until January 11 when it heads to Flagstaff, Arizona to compete in the Northern Arizona Friday Night Challenge.
