HOUGHTON, N.Y. - Senior Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) of the Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team broke her own school record in the triple jump as she highlighted the Huskies' action at the Houghton December Classic on Friday night. It marked the final meet during the 2018 portion of the regular season.

The Huskies finished with six Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers on Friday night with three coming on the track and three occurring in the field events.

O'Malley dominated the field in the triple jump as she posted a distance of 12.24 meters for an NCAA provisional mark. It broke her previous school record of 12.12 meters she established at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Indoor Championships. It also broke Houghton's Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse record of 12.07 meters which was also previously held by O'Malley at last year's December Classic. The 12.24-meter mark is the best in the PSAC to date and is second in the country to Lewis' Cierra Pullium (13.10 meters).

Staying in the field events, sophomore Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and freshman Ashley Blannard(Shavertown, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) also qualified for the conference championships as they finished third and fifth, respectively, in the long jump. Stevenson posted a mark of 5.43 meters (sixth in the PSAC) while Blannard jumped 5.31 meters (ninth in the PSAC).

On the track, fresh off of her appearance in the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships last Saturday, senior Morgan Ilgenfritz (Loysville, Pa./Boiling Springs) qualified for the conference meet in the 5000-meter run as she posted a time of 18:07.21 to win the event on Friday night. The next closest competitor finished more than three minutes behind. The time is second in the PSAC on the young season.

Stevenson was a two-time qualifier on Friday as she posted a personal-best time of 8.00 in the 60-meter dash during the prelims to qualify for the finals. She finished third in the finals with an identical mark of eight seconds flat. Finally, sophomore Autumn Kaminski (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) took third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.63 in the finals. Kaminski qualified with a time of 9.56 during prelims - the fifth-best time in the conference this season. Freshman Kaylie Schans (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) also ran in the finals and finished eighth with a time of 10.09.

The Huskies' 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Natalia Konitzer (Orangeville, Pa./Marian Catholic), senior Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area), Stevenson, and freshman Lauren O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) placed second overall with a time of 4:13.53 - third-best in the PSAC this season.

Bloomsburg will be off until January 11 when it heads to Flagstaff, Arizona to compete in the Northern Arizona Friday Night Challenge.
