Women's Basketball - Huskies Montana Named PSAC Eastern Division Co-Athlete Of The Week

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - For the second time this season, junior forward Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) of the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team has been honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). On Monday afternoon, Montana was named the PSAC Eastern Division Co-Athlete of the Week as she shares the honor with Shippensburg's Ariel Jones.

Montana averaged a double-double in helping the Huskies to a perfect 3-0 week including victories over Gannon and then-#19 Edinboro to open conference play over the weekend. The junior forward averaged 13.7 points and 12.0 rebounds, recording double-doubles against Chestnut Hill and Edinboro. Montana scored 16 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in the 77-62 victory over Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. Then, after scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds in a 56-41 win over Gannon on Saturday, Montana had 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Huskies upset #19 Edinboro, 70-62, on Sunday. Montana added five assists and a pair of blocks during the three-game week.

For the year, Montana is second on the team in scoring as she averages 12.4 points per game while ranking fifth in the PSAC in rebounding at 8.8 boards per contest.

The Huskies (6-2, 2-0 PSAC East) will travel to Erie, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, December 8, to battle the Lakers of Mercyhurst University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
