Women's Basketball - Warriors Lutz named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Sophomore Erica Lutz earned a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the second week in a row, a Lycoming College women’s basketball player has earned a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, with sophomore Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) earning a spot for the week of Dec. 3-9, the website announced on Monday night, Dec. 10

Lutz spearheaded a 2-0 week for the Warriors, averaging 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 3.5 steals per game in wins over previously undefeated conference foes Lebanon Valley and Arcadia. She had 11 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a 60-50 win over Lebanon Valley before dropping a career-high 23 points to go with 12 rebounds, a career-high five steals and two blocks in a 55-52 win over Arcadia.

Lutz tied the game with the Knights twice in the final 3:45 and she also added a game-clinching steal with seven seconds left as Arcadia inbounded the ball under their own basket down by a point.

Lutz is fifth in the MAC Commonwealth with an average of 16.2 points per game and she is fourth with 8.8 rebounds per game. She is also second in field goal percentage (.569), fifth in free throw percentage (.815) and fourth in blocked shots (1.9).

Lutz joins junior Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) as the first pair of teammates at Lycoming to earn a slot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in the same season. Kline earned the slot for the week of Dec. 2 after helping the Warriors to wins over Albright and Stevenson.

The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Dec. 12, when they host ninth-ranked Messiah in a battle for first in MAC Commonwealth play. Tip is set for 8 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
