Women's Basketball - Warriors out to stay perfect in league play when Arcadia visits

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With a half-game hold on first place through three games of the MAC Commonwealth schedule, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will put its lead on the line on Saturday, Dec. 8, when Arcadia University, one of two teams in second place, visits Lamade Gym.


The Warriors (6-2 overall, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 60-50 win over Lebanon Valley, as four of the team's starters finished in double figures. Junior Kayla Kline led the team with 16 points and 14 rebounds and senior Becca Painter added 15 in the win.

The Knights (4-4 overall, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) posted a convincing 49-28 win over Alvernia in its last outing. Junior Taylor Dunn was the lone player in the game to score in double figures, notching 15 points.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors can open conference play 4-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 team opened MAC Northwest play 4-0.

• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth in  field goal percentage defense (.350), free throw percentage (.743), assist-turnover ratio (1.23), scoring margin (14.8), and turnovers (13.0).

• With 186 career assists, junior Akilah McFadden is five helpers shy of reaching the top 10 in the school's record book.

• Junior Kayla Kline and McFadden are 12 and 16 rebounds shy of becoming the 41st and 42nd players in school history to post 300 in a career.

• Kline is tied for 23rd in Division III with four double-doubles.

• Sophomore Erica Lutz is three blocked shots shy of becoming the 11th player in program history to notch 50 in a career.
